When their parents left Vianney promised their mother that they would attend church services every Sunday and they have, finding a supportive community there. Their mother Maria Mendoza-Sanchez made the decision to send Jesus back to the US after it was discovered that his paperwork hadn't gone through quickly enough for school and he would have to repeat the entire grade over again.
